Historical Reproduction Red Wax Seal of the Supreme Council of the Indies of Holland - This item is a double-sided red wax seal attached to a parchment or paper tag, representing a historical reproduction of a 17th-century Dutch colonial seal. The obverse features a seated monarch or personification of authority under an ornate triple canopy, supported by two standing figures. The reverse, or counter-seal, displays a rampant lion within a circular border. The border contains the Latin inscription: HOLLANDIA CONTRA SIGILLVM SVPREMI CONCILII INDIARVM. This identifies the piece as the seal of the Supreme Council of the Indies of Holland, the administrative body for Dutch colonial interests. The seal is rendered in a uniform terracotta-red color with high-relief details. It is attached to a strip of heavy paper that serves as a mounting tag.
