Russian Orthodox Enameled Brass Travel Icon Panel, 19th Century - This 19th-century Russian cast brass travel icon is a single panel, likely originally part of a folding polyptych as evidenced by the hinge mounts on the right edge. The icon features an ogival top section above a rectangular panel divided into four distinct registers. The piece is decorated with high-relief casting and remnants of blue and white enamel within the background recesses. The top section depicts the Crucifixion of Christ, featuring the Cyrillic inscription РАСПЯТИЕ ГДНЕ (Raspyatiye Gospodne / Crucifixion of the Lord) along the upper border. Flanking the central cross are the liturgical abbreviations IС ХС (Isus Khristos / Jesus Christ) and МЛ (Mesto Lobnoye / Place of the Skull). The four lower registers depict scenes from the Great Feasts: the Annunciation (top left), the Nativity of Christ (top right), the Presentation of Christ in the Temple (bottom left), and the Entry into Jerusalem (bottom right).
