Dutch Official Wax Seal Specimen Arrondissement IJker Winschoten - This is an official Dutch wax seal specimen from the late 19th to early 20th century. The item features a circular red wax seal mounted on a square light-brown cardstock backing. The seal belongs to the Arrondissement IJker, or District Assayer, of Winschoten, an office historically responsible for the verification and stamping of weights and measures in the province of Groningen, Netherlands. The seal is embossed with the text ARR. IJKER. WINSCHOTEN around the perimeter. The central field contains a triangular emblem depicting a stylized tool or hand, with the letters T.W. positioned below the triangle. The upper right corner of the cardstock features a two-line handwritten ink inscription reading Arr. Yker. te Winschoten, with the Y underlined. The wax seal is affixed to a small square of white paper, which is then mounted to the larger cardstock. Backing card measures 2.5 x 2.5 inches.
