It is comprised of multiple folio leaves of heavy laid paper, handwritten in a formal German secretary hand known as Kurrentschrift. The opening leaf features large calligraphic lettering identifying the subject as Ich Jacob Geuterlein and is dated De Anno 1695. Internal references within the text mention Martini 1691 (St. Martin's Day) and the name Hanss Kohler Banssen Sohn. A primary feature of the document is a large pendant wax seal attached by a twisted yellow-and-white cord.
