Mounted Armorial Wax Seal Specimen Cleiters Werner with Van Brandeler Provenance - This item is a mounted heraldic wax seal specimen of European origin, with the seal likely dating to the 18th or 19th century and the mounting documented to 1929. The red wax seal displays an armorial device featuring an escutcheon with a decrescent moon and stars, topped with a barred helmet and elaborate mantling. The seal is inscribed CLEITER S. WERNER within the border arcs. A secondary impression of the letter D is visible on the reverse of the wax through the card cutout. The specimen is secured to a square tan card mount by a translucent paper strip. The card features manuscript ink inscriptions reading Cleiters Werner on the front and reverse, along with the number 202. Stamped text at the bottom of the card reads Jhr. v l Brandeler and Aus: v Stock, Antiq, Nov-29, indicating provenance from the Dutch noble Van Brandeler family and acquisition from the firm v.
