Boye Needle Company Crochet Hook Store Countertop Display Cabinet, c. 1919 - A Boye Needle Company store countertop display cabinet designed for the sale of crochet hooks, dating to circa 1919. The cabinet is constructed of wood with a mahogany-toned finish and features finger-jointed corners on the rear storage bin. The upper section is glass-fronted and contains fourteen vertical inventory slots, each marked with a white size number ranging from 1 to 14. The lower front panel features a color lithographed graphic illustrating a woman using a magnifying glass to view a crochet hook. Printed text includes the slogan Better Than The Best Hook You Ever Used and the company name The Boye Needle Company with locations in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. A metal strip inset at the base is stamped Patd. Jan. 14, 1919 - Dec. 16, 1919. The reverse side features a hinged upper access panel and a lower storage bin. A gold-tone instructional label on the back panel indicates the cabinet was loaned for the display of Boye brand merchandise.
