Antique Dazey Churn and Mfg. Co. Model 480B Metal Butter Churn - This Dazey Churn and Mfg. Co. model 480B butter churn features a rectangular metal canister finished in blue paint, supported by a cast metal frame and base. The top-mounted gear mechanism is operated by a large flywheel with a wooden handle grip, which drives an internal vertical metal shaft equipped with a four-blade wooden paddle. The canister is covered by a two-piece wooden lid featuring two turned wooden knobs. A metal spigot is located at the front base of the canister for drainage. The cast metal frame is embossed with several identifying marks including MADE IN AMERICA, DAZEY CHURN and MFG. CO. ST. LOUIS MO., PATENTED DEC 18 1917, and the model number 480B. The interior of the canister shows a galvanized finish. Height: Approximately 27 inches Width: Approximately 9 inches.
