WWII Era US Army Air Force Sterling Silver Aircrew Wings - This is a World War II era United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) Aircrew Member badge. The insignia is constructed of sterling silver and features outspread wings flanking a central circular medallion. The medallion depicts the Great Seal of the United States, including an eagle with a shield, an olive branch, and arrows, surmounted by a constellation of stars. The reverse side is equipped with a horizontal pin-back and a roller-style safety catch. The word STERLING is stamped into the metal on the reverse of the central medallion.
