A Collection of United States Washington Quarters - A collection of United States Washington quarters dating from the mid-20th century. The obverse of each coin features the portrait of George Washington facing left, with the inscriptions LIBERTY above and IN GOD WE TRUST to the left of the neck. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with outspread wings perched on a bundle of arrows, framed by two olive branches. Inscriptions on the reverse include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and QUARTER DOLLAR. The group includes various dates such as 1939, 1941, 1942, 1945, 1948, 1950, 1951, 1954, 1956, 1961, 1963, and 1964. Several examples feature mint marks including D for Denver and S for San Francisco located on the reverse below the wreath. The coins are struck in a silver alloy consistent with United States currency production prior to 1965.
