Bidspirit auction | Antique End of Day Twisted

Antique End of Day Twisted Glass Parade Cane - A large, hand-blown glass parade cane, often referred to as a glass blower's whimsy or ”End of Day” cane. The elongated, clear glass rod features a tight spiral twist throughout its body, incorporating embedded helical ribbons of opaque color, primarily red/pink and blue/teal, creating a Red White and Blue aesthetic. One end terminates in a smooth, rounded, bulbous handle form. The item is presumably Steuben, and according to the consignor, it was found in the basement of an old estate in Elmira, NY, along with other similar canes. The cane displays overall translucent clarity with minor internal particles visible, consistent with early hand-blown glass production. No distinguishing text or maker's marks are visible.
