Late 19th Century Bronze Kerosene Lamp Base with Fú Lù Shòu Decoration and Components - A late 19th or early 20th century kerosene lamp base constructed from heavy cast bronze or brass, exhibiting a dark, aged patina. The design incorporates East Asian aesthetic influences (Japonisme). The lamp features a round base supporting a columnar stem decorated in high relief with stylized wave patterns and applied cast elements resembling iris or lily flowers. The octagonal fuel fount is decorated with six raised medallions set against a dense geometric background. These medallions display the Chinese characters for Fú (Blessing), Lù (Prosperity), and Shòu (Longevity), repeated twice. The lot includes the main lamp base assembly and one detached brass chimney rest. The disassembled brass burner assembly is present, featuring a thick rope wick and a perforated air shield. The air shield is stamped with partial illegible text including the numbers ”PAT. 854”.
