Antique Waltham / American Watch Co. Keyless-Wind Base Metal Pocket Watch - An antique keyless-wind pocket watch, likely by Waltham or American Watch Co., featuring a gilded brass movement marked 'BOSTON MASS' and partially 'THE & C. H. S & T WALTHA_ C_', with a partial serial number '7843_'. The movement also features an engraved balance cock. Enclosed in a round, heavily patinated base metal case with a deeply engine-turned (guilloché) pattern on its reverse, centered by a plain circular cartouche. The case features a reeded band, and a matching tarnished metal pendant and bow are attached. The hinged front reveals a white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers, blued steel hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The inside of the outer case back is stamped with a square hallmark containing '53' and the number '79437'.
