A Pair of John H. Williams Illustrated Books: 'Yosemite and Its High Sierra' (1914) and 'The Mountain That Was God' (1911) - A pair of early 20th-century cloth-bound hardcover books by author John H. Williams. The lot includes 'YOSEMITE AND ITS HIGH SIERRA, ' published in 1914, and 'THE MOUNTAIN THAT WAS GOD, ' published in 1911 by G. P. Putnam's Sons. The larger volume, 'YOSEMITE AND ITS HIGH SIERRA, ' features a tan cloth cover adorned with a printed color illustration of Yosemite Valley's granite peaks, alongside black title text and decorative elements. This volume contains over two hundred illustrations, including eight color plates. The second, slightly smaller volume, 'THE MOUNTAIN THAT WAS GOD, ' is similarly bound in tan cloth, decorated with a printed color illustration of a snow-capped mountain, explicitly identified within as Mount Rainier (also known as Tacoma).
