The Millwright's Guide, 1834, by Carey, Lea, & Blanchard, Leather Bound - A 19th-century technical manual titled 'MILLWRIGHTS GUIDE, ' published in 1834 by CAREY, LEA, & BLANCHARD. The book features a brown leather hardback cover with a dark spine label bearing gilt lettering. The interior contains aged, off-white paper with technical text and illustrations, including an engraving titled 'Evans' improved Mill.' A copyright notice inside states the book was ”Entered... in the year 1834, by CAREY, LEA, & BLANCHARD, in the Clerk's Office of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.” An additional handwritten inscription on an endpaper provides provenance: ”This Book was formerly owned By Henry. Saugsman and Purchased from him by Joseph W. Hoffinan of White Deer Mills in union County in the State of Pennsylvania This the 18th of January in the year of 1858 Joseph W.
