Dunham Culti-Packer Soil Pulverizer, 90” wide - This is a pull-type agricultural soil finishing implement, specifically a single-gang culti-packer. The unit features an angle-iron frame with diagonal bracing and cast iron components. Two large cast iron end frames support a single axle. Cast in relief on the side of one end frame are the words DUNHAM and CULTI-PACKER (photo 2). The implement is equipped with 22 individual cast iron packer wheels, each featuring a ridged or ”toothed” profile designed to crush clods and firm the seedbed. It is configured as a pull-type machine with a central drawbar ending in a multi-hole clevis-style hitch for attachment to a tractor or draft team. The design incorporates two greasable cast-style bearings at the axle ends.
