WEST OF MEEKER PICKUP- Antique Aspinwall Manufacturing Co. Cast Iron Potato Seed Cutter on Wooden Stand - This is an antique lever-action potato seed cutter manufactured by the Aspinwall Manufacturing Company of Jackson, Michigan. The device features a heavy cast iron frame and cutting mechanism mounted onto a four-legged primitive wooden stand. The cast iron components include ornate lattice-work side plates and a prominent operating lever fitted with a turned wooden handle. A heavy-duty coiled tension spring is attached to the frame to return the lever after use. The front plate of the iron frame is embossed with the text POTATO CUTTER, ASPINWALL PATENTS, and ASPINWALL MFG CO JACKSON MICH. This tool was designed to slice seed potatoes into smaller sections for planting.
