WEST OF MEEKER PICKUP- Antique A.T. Ferrell and Co. Clipper Grain and Seed Cleaner - This antique agricultural fanning mill is a grain and seed cleaner produced by A. T. Ferrell and Co. of Saginaw, Michigan. The machine is identified by original stenciled text on the wooden housing reading THE CLIPPER and MANUFACTURED BY A. T. FERRELL AND CO. SAGINAW, MICH. The unit is constructed with a substantial wooden frame and includes a top-mounted hopper for feeding uncleaned material. The mechanical system is hand-crank operated, utilizing a large cast iron drive gear that connects to a series of wooden pulleys and internal shafts. These components drive a fan and a set of vibrating internal wire mesh sieves designed to separate chaff and debris from grain or seeds. The exterior displays a combination of weathered natural wood and dark-stained surfaces, with some original red and black paint and stenciling still visible, including the brand name set within a C-shaped logo.
