Stella Bloch Porcelain Figure of Pierrot,1920s - Stella Bloch (Czech, XIX-XX), Bloch B Factory of Hohenstein-Teplitz, Porcelain figure of a Pierrot, c. 1920's, the underside with marks of Bloch B at Hohenstein porcelain reading ”BB / Hohenstein” and with impressed numbers ”9469 / 3” and black overglaze mark ”Made in / Czechoslovakia / 1194 / 4” and depicting a sad Pierrot figure with his foot on a drum, glazed in cream and black with polychrome detail to the face only. 11.5” H Note: in the early 1920's, the Bernard Bloch factory was divided, and Stella Bloch took over the Hohenstein factory, where she produced in the 1920's numerous ”flapper” and ”pierrot” groups. She was also known for collaborations with Gustav Klimt and Dagobert Peche. Condition: This item is located in our storage facility at 36-01 35th St. Astoria, NY.
