Soviet period Russian lacquer casket with a view of the Moscow Kremlin from across the Moskva River, the box inscribed, dated, and signed faintly "Fedoskino / 1961 g. / Tsvetkov / 61" 3.5" H x 8.5" W x 4.75" D Note: This particular view has been a popular one for lacquer boxes since the 19th century. A virtually identical view on a box attributed to Pizhov dating from 1880 (sold Freeman's: Philadelphia, 29 November, 2018, "The Art of Russian Lacquer: 19th C Masterworks from the Taylor Collection" Lot 44). The offered lot differs from the Pizhov model in that the Soviet Red Stars are clearly visible atop the Kremlin buildings. 3.5" H x 8.5" W x 4.5" D
