Nell Kaye, Female Head, Verdigris Bronze, 1950s
Nell Kaye (South African, 1912 - 1969) Female Head, in verdigris patinated bronze, signed in cast "N. Kaye" at base of neck, and possible foundry mark "LB", and showing the long necked figure looking up into the distance, mounted on a mahogany block, the underside with label reading "Rhoda O. Stan Fisher" and inscribed in pencil "NELL KAYE" 6.5" H with base. Note: Nell Kaye was a well-known midcentury South African sculptor who was knwon for her portrait busts. Her work may be found today in the Pretoria Art Museum, as well as the South African National Gallery, Cape Town.
Condition: This item is located in our storage facility at 36-01 35th St. Astoria, NY. Pick-up is from this storage facility in Astoria, NY.
