Pair of Stamped American Flint-Enamel / Rockingham-Glazed Plates / Dishes - Pair of Stamped American Flint-Enamel / Rockingham-Glazed Plates / Dishes Splotched brown and pale blue glaze over buff-colored yellowware, shallow round form with flattened rim having a raised outer edge, stamped ”SE” or ”SF” to undersides. Possibly Ralph Bagnall Beech (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Mid 19th century. Dimensions: 8 7/8” D. Condition: Virtually undamaged with minor to moderate overall wear especially to interiors, and a couple minor flakes to outermost top edges of rims. Provenance: The Stradling Study Collection. Skinner, Inc., 04/17/1981. Catalogue Note: Possibly attributable based on similarity of glaze to the unusual dish on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession no. ”13.31.19”. The meaning of the stamp is unknown.
