English or Scottish 19th Century Yellowware Hound-Handled Loving Cup with Frog - English or Scottish 19th Century Yellowware Hound-Handled Loving Cup with Frog Yellow earthenware streaked and speckled with blue, white, and red slips beneath a thick lead glaze; tall cylindrical form with flaring rim, applied molded hound handles with punched decoration to collars, huge molded toad on the interior, and wide round foot. Stamped below one handle, but the stamp is illegible beneath the thick glazes. Mid 19th century. Dimensions: 5 5/8” H, 5 1/2” D base. Condition: Excellent condition with one tight vertical hairline traveling 1 1/4” downward from one handle's bottom to the edge of the base, and a further 2” onto the underside.
