English Salt-Glazed Stoneware Figural Toby Flask / Bottle - English Salt-Glazed Stoneware Figural Toby Flask / Bottle Brown salt glaze on buff stoneware, molded bottle in the full-bodied form of a well-dressed man in uniform (seemingly a sailor) holding a tobacco pipe and standing in front of a large boulder with a large anchor wrapped around the boulder visibly at the front and back. Stamped ”WHO ARE YOU?” on base. First half 19th century. Dimensions: 8 1/2” H, 3 1/8” x 2 1/4” base. Condition: Excellent condition with two small flakes to hat brim at rear, and two small flakes around base edge. Provenance: The Stradling Study Collection. Christies East, 04/02/1984.
