Chippendale Carved Mahogany Slant-Front Desk - Chippendale Carved Mahogany Slant-Front Desk Rhode Island or Massachusetts, 1760-1780. Provenance: Israel Sack, Inc., New York; Christie's, New York, Jan 23, 1988, Sale 6536, Lot 263 44 x 40 1/4 x 22 in. (111.8 x 102.2 x 55.9 cm.) Condition: Overall good condition. Great quality, dense, heavy wood. Rich, dark chocolate brown color. Some scratches to top and lid. Some stains to interior of pigeon houses. Left side of fall board scrubbed/cleaned. Brasses appear original. Minor shrinkage cracks to case sides. Left side shows splash mark/water stain. Repairs to feet, some chips to carved elements of feet.  Thank you for your interest in our upcoming sale.
