Charles Schreyvogel, 1861-1912, The Last Drop, Patinated Bronze - Charles Schreyvogel 1861-1912 The Last Drop Patinated Bronze Inscribed on base: ”Copyright 1900 by / Chas Schreyvogel.” Inscribed on underside: ”No. 35.” Inscribed on side of base ”Roman Bronze Works N-Y-”. Charles Schreyvogel created a clay sculpture to model his 1899 oil painting by the same name, now located in the Tacoma Museum of Art. He eventually began casting the model in bronze in 1903. Most castings known bare the later copyright date of 1903, with only a handful with the 1900 date. There were 150 authorized castings of ”The Last Drop” with this example being number 35.
