Lion and Unicorn Cast Iron Andirons / Bootscrapers - Lion and Unicorn Cast Iron Andirons / Bootscrapers Matched set of British 19th C cast iron figures, once used to support a Royal Warrant for a British Retailer to claim they were purveyors to the Royal Household. Now often used as andirons, they would have originally been mounted as bootscrapers at the outside entrance to a business, thus advertising their position as the suppliers of that product to royalty. Lion: 13 1/4 x 27 1/2 x 5 in. (33.7 x 69.9 x 12.7 cm.), Unicorn: 18 x 27 1/4 x 4 1/2 in. (45.7 x 69.2 x 11.4 cm.) Condition: Condition reports are not provided in catalog descriptions.
