Blackfeet Artist Of the Northern Plains By Scriver
Featured in this lot we have a hard cover edition of "The Blackfeet Artists of the Northern Plains" by Bob Scriver. Robert Macfie Scriver (1914-1999) was born in Browning, Montana (in the heart of the Blackfoot Indian Reservation) in 1914. Scriver is known for his wonderful western sculptures. By 1962 he became a charter member of the Society of Animal Artists, had been accepted into the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America, listed in Who's Who in American Art, and a member of the National Sculpture Society, and the National Academy of Western Art. He is believed to be "The Cowboy's National Sculptor" and one of the finest Montana bronze artists of the 20th century. This book contains information on Blackfeet American Indian artifacts and items featured in Scrivers collection. The piece contains numerous black and white, as well as color pictures. The book shows good condition overall with some light wear across the front cover due to age. The book measures 12 1/2" wide by 9 1/4" tall.
