Missouri River Hell Gap Point 9,500 - 10,300 B.P. - For your consideration is this Hell Gap lanceolate point from the Missouri River Drainage in 1986 by Albert Higgins and shown from 9,500 - 10,300 B.P. The point shows expert knapping of its serrated edge and constructed from chert material showing an elliptical cross section. Points found in eastern states are commonly referred to as Madina points and are thought to have been traded or distributed from tribe to tribe. The condition of this point is fair showing very minor tip damage to the point and is graded at 8.5. The measurements of this point are 5 1/4” x 1 1/2”.
