Civil War Era Military Pack Saddle - Civil War Era military pack saddle circa 1860. The saddle is built on a heavy duty wooden platform with a protruding wooden channel, based in the center of the saddle. The soldier would drape a cargo load over the saddle, setting a strap inside the channel. Saddle has maker's marks, 4 sets of floral metal conchos, placed on each corner of the square saddle.
