Scarce Original Pair of Late 16th Century German Knights Armor Stirrups - This rare pair of late 16th century German knights’ stirrups are hand-forged stirrups, reinforced at the front, the sides and the bottom of the wooden base with steel straps mounted in a heavy band with a suspension loop. The interior is fitted with the original leather lining. These armored stirrups supported and gave stability to the rider and also crucially protected the feet in battle.
