A magnificent undulating ivory border of delicate Rococo scrolls and rose garlands frames the composition, with a rich salmon outer ground completing the elegant transition to the carpet's rectangular form. Lushly floral, harmoniously composed, and characteristic of the finest French flat-woven art, this is a beautiful and important example of the Aubusson legacy.
