A scalloped ogival medallion brimming with minute millefleurs detail is adorned with fleur-de-lis finials and enclosed by corner pieces that define an oval field, itself studded with scintillating jewel-like floral elements in mauve-aubergine. The floral borders echo the same elements and tones of the field, endowing the entire composition with a remarkably harmonious decorative unity — a hallmark of the finest late 19th-century Lavar Kerman production. Condition: Lot #225 is in fair condition. The pile is low and even with scattered areas of tinted pile. There are a few small tears in the rug that have to be sewn. back together. The two ends are original and secured. The sides are secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean.
