Vintage Voland & Sons Precision Analytical Balance Scale w/ Wood & Glass Case - This is a beautiful vintage precision analytical balance scale manufactured by Voland & Sons Inc. of New Rochelle, New York, for the Central Scientific Company. Dating to approximately the mid-20th century, this finely crafted instrument was designed for accurate laboratory measurements and would have been used in scientific, educational, or research settings. The scale features a polished brass central column, precision balance beam, and two suspended metal weighing pans. The original manufacturer's identification plate remains intact and reads ”VOLAND & SONS (INC) / NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. / MADE FOR CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC CO.” The delicate balance mechanism is housed within an attractive wooden cabinet featuring glass viewing panels, a sliding front access window, and adjustable leveling feet. The original black base provides an attractive contrast to the brass components and warm wood finish. This example remains in very nice vintage condition, displaying minor surface wear consistent with its age. The scale also includes two small metal accessories, as pictured. Its mechanical accuracy has not been tested, and it is being offered as a collectible scientific instrument.
