DESCO Pre-1980 US Navy Dive Knife - This is a nice older example of a DESCO US Navy standard dive knife, also know as the Mark V knife among collectors. This example is stamped DESCO on the shaft of the brass scabbard. This stamping location was used by DESCO before 1980. The scabbard also features a stamped 03 at the flared top. This is a strong indication it was part of a ship's or submarine's inventory. Overall, this is a good older example. The wood handle is in excellent condition. The stainless steel blade has some tiny surface imperfection, nothing serious. The shine is gone from the surface due to age and likely use. A vintage leather belt with brass buckle is present on the scabbard. Great knife to pair with a WWII DESCO Mark V helmet. Please review all photographs for additional details and overall condition.
