KA-BAR Diving Knife Union Cutlery Co WW2 US Navy - An exceptionally scarce World War II U.S. Navy diving knife manufactured by the renowned Union Cutlery Company of Olean, New York, makers of the legendary KA-BAR knives. While KA-BAR is best known for its military combat knives, its specialized diving knives are considerably more difficult to find today, especially in such outstanding original condition. This example features a stainless steel blade with crisp, clearly legible manufacturer markings stamped on both sides near the base. The blade exhibits signs of surface imperfections, but no deep pitting. The blade surface still retains some shine. The original brass sheath is well preserved and has a vintage leather belt strap with brass buckle present. The wood handle has dark spotting on the surface, but is solid. The brass fittings retain their attractive original appearance. This is a great opportunity to acquire a seldom-seen example of American naval diving equipment from the Second World War!
