Rare WWII U.S. Navy KA-BAR Diving Knife – Union Cutlery Co. - An exceptionally scarce World War II U.S. Navy diving knife manufactured by the renowned Union Cutlery Company of Olean, New York, makers of the legendary KA-BAR knives. While KA-BAR is best known for its military combat knives, its specialized diving knives are considerably more difficult to find today, especially in such outstanding original condition. This example features a stainless steel blade with crisp, clearly legible manufacturer markings stamped on both sides near the base. The blade shows only minor signs of age, with both cutting edges remaining in excellent condition. A light coating of protective oil is currently present. The original brass sheath is exceptionally well preserved, while the wooden handle and brass fittings retain their attractive original appearance. Overall, this is a beautiful and remarkably well-preserved WWII KA-BAR diving knife that may never have seen actual service.
