Bidspirit auction | Unusual Siebe Gorman Style Divers
Unusual Siebe Gorman Style Divers Knife With Handle Loop. - This is a very unusual antique diver's knife. The knife's scabbard is very similar to turn-of-the-century Siebe Gorman examples, but the brass belt loop is unstamped. The drain hole at the end of the scabbard is relatively large, at .5 inch wide. The stainless steel blade has no names or stamps. Patina on the surface of both sides of the blade is evident, but no deep pitting. The wood handle is cracked in two spots with old glue repairs evident. The end of the handle features a Vince-style loop on it, but it does not swivel. Great piece of equipment, evocative of a diver's need to keep tools working.
