Printed Devotedly in the House of rabbi Nosson of Breslov: Likutei Moharan Kama and Tanina, the First Printed Together - Second Edition Breslov, 1821

The fundamental book of Breslov, a rare and most important edition that was printed devotedly in the house of Rabbi Nosson of Breslov, the greatest disciple of Rabbeinu in Breslov. 

"ספר ליקוטי מוהר"ן, הנכבד והנורא, מי כמוהו מורה, היוצא בקדושה ובטהרה, מפי קודש קדשים, נבון לחש וחכם חרשים, ה"ה כבוד אדונינו מורינו ורבינו... נחל נובע מקור חכמה אור ישראל וקדושו... מורינו ורבינו הרב רבי נחמן זצוק"ל מק' ברסלב... נדפס שנית בתוספות הגהה... ובתוספות ביאור ותיקון הלשון בכמה מקומות... ועוד כמה הוספות... חידושים... גם נתוספו בו מפתחות ומראה מקומות... ועוד כמה תיקונים... אשר נתוספו...". 

In each section, the first place of printing was emphasized. The first section emphasized Ostroh and the second one, Mahlov. Printed in 1821. At the beginning of the book, a foreword by Rabbi Nosson, a longer version than that appearing in the first edition.

Likutei Moharan Tanina - [1], 44 leaves. The last leaf was complete with a photocopy.

This copy is of the second edition of the book; yet, it is the first edition that contains both sections with corrections and additions and serves as the prototype of the following editions. Rabbi Nosson himself wrote in the foreword to this edition that it is a corrected one:  "המדפיסים דשם עוותו מאד כי נדפס שלא בפנינו וע"כ רבו כמו רבו הטעויות שנפלו שם בשעת הדפוס... הן על כל אלה שמתי לבי ודעתי לתקן הכל על צד היותר טוב, כפי אשר הי' ה' עמדי ותקנתי כל הטעויות והעוות שנפלו בהדפסה ראשונה".

"והנה כל מה שעבר עלי בענין הדפוס, צריך חיבור גדול, וא״א לבארו בכתב בשום אופן, ובעזה״י בעוה״ב ידברו מזה הרבה"

The importance of this edition, however, lies in the devotion demonstrated by the great disciple Rabbi Nosson who printed the book in his house in Breslov, overcoming many hardships and obstacles, as he himself recalls in Yemei Moharnat (צט):  "בשנת תקע"ט התחלתי לעסוק בהעמדת הדפוס בביתי כדי לחזור ולהדפיס הספרים הקדושים שלו בכמה וכמה תיקונים נפלאים, והיו לי מלחמות גדולות בזה ומניעות רבות ועצומות בלי שיעור. ובישועתו הנפלאה חפץ ה' בידי הצליח וגמרתי העסק בשלש שנים, דהיינו משנת תקע"ט עד סוף שנת תקפ"א, שאז נגמרו בכי טוב הדפסת הספרים הקדושים לקוטי מוהר"ן הראשון והתנינא...".

The books were printed before Rosh Hashana 1821 and Rabbi Nosson brought them to Uman, distributing them among the Chassidim, who were happy to accept them, as rabbi Nosson recalls:  "עינים ראו וישמחו, וכולם תמהו על גודל ישועת ה' אשר עזרני לגמור עסק ההדפסה, אחר מניעות עצומות כאלה, והודינו לה' חסדו ונפלאותיו אשר הפליא לעשות עמנו, ועם כל בנ״י לדורות עולם".

 "והנה כל מה שעבר עלי בענין הדפוס, צריך חיבור גדול, וא״א לבארו בכתב בשום אופן, ובעזה״י בעוה״ב ידברו מזה הרבה" - see what Rabbi Nosson wrote in Sefer Yemei Moharnat on the difficulties he encountered in his attemp to obtain a printing license and paper. 

The last leaf is missing and was completed with a photocopy. Some taping and reinforcements to the edges of the first title page and the last leaves. Moth damage in several places. Stains and aging blemishes. It is obvious the book was thoroughly studied. Blemishes to text in several places. Mostly good overall condition.
