Rare! With an Approbation by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev: Eitan HaEzrachi with Shut on the Cossack Riots of 1648 - First Edition Ostrohe, 1796

Sefer Shut Eitan HaEzrachi by the Gaon Rabbi AvrahamHacohen Rappaport Av Beit Din of Lvov (lived and operated in the first half of the 17th century), with Kuntres Aacharon containing Drushim on the Parashot and the five scrolls, Talmudic novellae, Drush for Rosh Hashana and eulogies. At its end, Yerach haEitanim by his grandson the publisher, Rabbi Avraham Av Beit Din of Bahslov. 


First ediiton - Ostrohe 1796. [2], 100 leaves. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection. Important approbations by contemporary Geonim including Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev


In this Shut, the author corresponded with leading rabbis on fateful questions pertaining to those days of trouble of the 1648 Cossack Riots. Some of the correspondence is in Yiddish. 


In addition to its halachic value, the book is an important historical source; it includes testimonies of the Riots for Hatarat Agunot and biographic material of contemporary rabbis and communities that were destroyed in the Riots. 


Bluish paper. New, impressive binding. Taping and many restorations to the edges of the leaves. Stains. Moth damage. Fair overall condition. 


Ashkenazic signatures on the title page - have not been studied.
