Important and rare collection of early catalouges of booksellers—Israel and Europe, 19th and 20th century. Some unlisted and unknown
1. List of antique and new books for sale at the Bookseller of Rabbi Shmuel Zvi Weltsmann in Kalish. No jacket. 73 pages, printed by Even in Rashi script. Note handwritten.
2. List of Books for Yitzhak Meir Alter Gur, Kalvarija. Printed by Waskadnya Warsaw. Many notes and doodles, some from the Haifa Chassidic book merchant Rabbi Yochanan Rubinstein, an important Gur chassid. Many defects to the text. Folded leaf resulting in four pages. We could not find this in bibliographic databases.
3. List of 2 new and antique books at the “Schneur” (Zalman Shmotkin) bookseller, Warsaw, 1935, printed at the Kadima Publisher, Warsaw. 23, [1] pages. Defects to the title page and filing holes.
4. List of 3 new and antique books at the “Schneur” (Zalman Shmotkin) bookseller, Warsaw, 1935, printed at the Kadima Publisher, Warsaw. 80 pages. Filing holes. This list does not appear in the Mifal nor in the National Library.
5. Catalouge and Price Currant for the Publisher and Bookseller M”Z in Vilna, 1928. Printed jacket binding. [4], 68 leaves. We could not find this in various databases nor in the Hebraica antique library.
6. Bamberger et Wahrmann, Jerusalem, 1-40, List #11, 1937. Printed jacket binding (the rear binding is missing). [3], 66 pages.
7. Bamberger et Wahramnn, 50-400, list #13, 1937. Printed jacket binding, continues the numbering of the prior issue. [2], 67-130.
8. Issues from HaModiya, a bibliographic periodical, edited by Reuven Margaliyot. 4th Cheshvan 1936. 16 pages. And two copies of pamphlet of 7th Av, 1938, 16 pages. Worming damage, poor condition. Catalogued in the Rare Books section of the National Library.
9. Printed postcard of the Kohelet Publisher, Rabbi Moshe Wertheimer, Jerusalem (son of Rabbi Shlomo Aharon Wertheimer). The publisher’s name is crossed out and his son’s name Avraham is written.
10. Various advertisements of the Schneur Publishing house of Rabbi Zalman Shmotkin of Warsaw, including a printed advert poster and a list of books for sale, and a postcard from 1936 with a list of books, partially written by hand and signed by the Chabad printer Rabbi Zalman Shmotkin.
Various conditions, some have damage to the text and various other defects.
