Rabbi Masoud Hai Rokeach (1690-1768) was the son of Rabbi Aaron. He was Rabbi of Tripoli, at first served as Shadar from Israel (where he had moved to from the place of his birth, Izmir). He arrived to Tripoli as an ambassador, and the people of the city pleaded with him to stay and serve as their rabbi, and he acceded to their request. Some of this important work, after which he was nicknamed, was printed during his lifetime.
