Perfect, preserved copy: Sefer Kol Bo—early edition, Venice 1567
Foundational work of halacha and minhagim from the Rishonim. Author’s name is unknown. Early edition printed by Giorgio di Cabali. Woodcarved engraving on the cover, 158 pages. Repairs to the cover page and other places, stains, leather spine, generally good condition.
Somewhat erased stamp of ownership: “Yisrael Shalom … Yamtzik-?” The Kol Bo is a foundational work of halacha well-received among the Jewish people. It deals with: Brachot, Tefilot, Minhagei Shabbat and Chagim, marriage, money issues, food, and minhagim of mourning. Includes some of the earliest exegeses on the Haggadah of Pesach. Attributed to the Ribash, though HaHida rejects this. There are those who say that Rabbi Aharon HaKohen of Lunel (the Ro’e) wrote the work. In the book Koreh HaDorot there is the claim that a wise woman wrote the book.
