It is actually pretty smooth to the touch in all but a few small spots and has a persistent shine so the humidity is not as harsh as the photos imply. There are 3-4 dings on the left side and another pair on the right at top and bottom. Close inspection reveals a faint 23 written just above center on the left side, the marker itself having long faded but preserved some of the original gold beneath it.
