Largest Early Clipped Breast Taino Tri-Stone
An extremely large, classical early type of a clipped breast form, a three pointer or tri-stone, a singularly Taino form of lost "religious" purpose, the duality as cahoba (hallucinogenic) grinding mortar, its cupped and course, peck carved underside remains obvious. Here, in this largest of all in private collections. the form, a "clipped" woman's breast , speculated to represent a male gender, retaining its approximately 1100 years old, original polished surface, the stone strongly compact and heavy. Very large and dramatic. In fine condition. 9"H 9"W and 3 3/4"thick across the middle of the arched up underside. From our octogenarian consignor source. His Taino obtained 52 to 34 years back. All Taino here are from him are guaranteed and will be identified as such
