Franco-Roman Large Storage Jar - Dating to about the 3rd-fifth centuries post Christ, a French regional jug or storage jar. Fairly high fired pottery, close to a stoneware, this finely potted Gaelic example of late Roman work is enhanced by its rich green lead glazing in and around its mouth. In that area, some breakdown at its rim, mainly in fine condition.
