Philadelphia Hepplewhite Framed Fire Screen - Two rarities crafted as one. Firstly, an extremely rare Philadelphia Hepplewhite mahogany fire screen, ( one other at the Philadelphia Museum, likely the same as was once at Winterthur). Over its original slide up framework , a superb Chinese silk on silk , that, also with gold wrapped metal thread, one of the finest examples of this same period textile work, ( both that and frame date to circus 1790-1800). All in very fine condition , (note the couple of small tight silk splits), all untouched , both in their original state. Fresh to the market. Overall Size 43.5”H x 39.5”W.
