MASSACHUSETTS FAMILY RECORD & MEMORIAL - Essex County, c. 1846. Central memorial flanked by columns and urns with flowers, and topped by a US eagle. In older, gilt frame. 22.5” high, 17.25” wide (overall). The memorial is for Daniel Emerson, born in Methuen in 1780. He married Abigail Gordon (1786-1867) and the couple had four children (Gilbert, Wealthy, Dean, and Jesse. Daniel died in Methuen in 1846 and this apears to have been made to commemorate his death, and Abigail's death was added later. Provenance: an Ohio collection.
