A coverlet in dark blue with large plume and snowflake design, eagle and tree and eight-point star side borders, bird and rose bush foot border, and corner blocks signed and dated ”J AND S SLAYBAUGH BUCYRUS CRAWFORD COUNTY OHIO 1845”. 85” by 63”. Provenance: The Virginia Gunn Collection, Wooster, Ohio. Josiah and Samuel Slaybaugh were brothers and business partners. Coverlets bearing both their names are dated 1848-1849.
