OHIO CENTENNIAL CRAZY QUILT - Ohio, 1888, cotton, silk, velvet. A pieced crazy quilt with a large five-armed shape in the center with floral embroidery on black, surrounded by various pieced designs in a variety of fabrics with colorful embroidered stitchwork, includes several political ribbons, and is initialed ”S.W.D” and has a block embroidered ”OHIO CEN'T'L 1888”, with blue velvet border and gold corded edges and tucked corners .73” by 71”. Provenance: The Virginia Gunn Collection, Wooster, Ohio. Dr. Gunn purchased this qilt on E-bay in December, 2000. Affordable, in-house shipping is available for this lot.
