QUARTER PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE OF A BESPECTACLED GENTLEMAN - 1840s. A dapper gentleman wearing a large bow tie and spectacles that appear to have hinged lenses. Pressed paper case. (SS8) Condition: Clear image; case hinges are detached. NOTE ADDED 11/2: there appears to have been some moderate oxidation to the plate during the past 6 weeks (since it was photographed). The seal appears completely intact and the brass preserve has not been removed. Please see the added photo that illustrates this. This lot can be shipped in-house.
